That's right, WTF am I doing? Well, for one, das Ende von Tagen is now just called DEVT. Expect the name to be changed across the web slowly. Why the change? Well, it's shorter and easier to say. I'm also sick of people calling it "Das Evon Tachnaueuigoserfguiksdfhgksfes." Was "das Ende von Tagen" too hard to pronounce? NO!

So what the hell has DEVT been doing? It's been a year since you put anything out!

Glad you asked. DEVT is, and always will be, an electronic project first with metal influences. DEVT also will never stick with one sound as I like to experiment with different ideas. I'm working on Gravedigger as we speak and trying to get the sound right. So far, it's been crazy and I've only liked one, yes one, song I've made recently, apart from the joke of Kawaii Terror. I'm thinking that powernoise + metal might be the direction I go this time, sort of like The Cell, but way more refined. Oh, don't get me wrong, refined doesn't mean that raw aggression won't be there. I've just gotten better at recording and mixing. M vocals are now sounding great, I have a massive surplus of lyrics, I just need to figure out what to do with my synths and guitar. Drums are set, metal style with occasional electronic styles mixed in.

Oh, so are you a serious project or not right now?

Both at the same time. I like yelling about society's issues, but I'm also going to have fun. I've been listening a lot to 鬱P (UtsuP), Caustic and Terminal Choice and let me tell you: you can't take them seriously. For 鬱P, he writes a lot about despair and the like, hence his name (depression). At some point, you gotta realize that he does that because he's probably angry. And the versions of him singing his music instead of a Vocaloid are fucking awesome and a lot better than the current state of Western metal.Caustic needs no explanation, it's Caustic! For the record, White Knuckle Headfuck is my ringtone. Terminal Choice? Just listen to how ridiculous Fight The System and We Are Back! are you won't take them seriously.

So what are you saying?

The music part is serious, the lyrics are whatever I feel like. Maybe they're serious, maybe they aren't.

So are you doing any metal? Without synths?

Metal, yes. Without synths, no. Let me tell you, I can't keep rhythm after a while playing over a track 3 times minimum (guitar left, guitar right, bass). I need the synths to give me a break. Hey, at least I know my own faults and how to get around them.

What vocal style are you doing? / Sticking to the screaming style of vocals?

I'm actually singing on a few songs, doing my "normal" vocal style, and I've made one track so far in a sort of rap-like style. The song determines the vocal style and I'm experimenting a bit more now.

Will you be doing any other projects?

In the future, yes. After Gravedigger, I'll be trying to create an EBM/industrial metal band, but not in America. Yeah, I'm leaving the country at some point. Will I return? Maybe, but you have to remember that my songs against society are directed only at America. I love my country, but I hate the people in it and a lot of our culture.

Any recommendations on music to listen to?

Yep, but Pandora will really help you find what you want. I can tell you a lot about what I like, but what good is that?

ALL of das Ende von Tagen's works are licensed by Creative Commons, this license to be exact and copyrighted to me, nanlak.NAXOS AKA Thomas P. You can share what you get of my works, but only non-commercially. That means ABSOLUTELY NO TRANSFER OF MONEY unless I'm the one uploading it. The only place sales are allowed of das Ende von Tagen's works are at the official Bandcamp page. Yes, one album (The Cell) is on iTunes and Amazon, but don't be an idiot and save money by going direct to the artist. In fact, fuck Amazon and iTunes, I get more downloads on Bandcamp than both of the others combined.

If das Ende von Tagen ever appears on a commercial page, as in pay-to-access my music, apart from what has been previously mentioned, expect a cease-and-desist letter. I'm protecting my rights and I'd rather not move up to the next level of rights protection. Oh, and for the record, the copyright law for art and music is that your work is copyrighted to you as soon as you make it. Buying a full copyright just puts it in stone, but no matter, it is copyrighted. I have a buddy who made a picture and put it on Deviantart. He found the same one used in a TV show and forced them to credit it to him. He never paid to have his copyright in stone, but he didn't need to. Source for copyright rules. Do your own searching as well.
